The Tidal Series
The shiny metal-plated clock-hands against the custom dark blue body of the Tidal artworks are evocative of sunlight reflecting on the surface of water. The cyclical and cumulative patterns shown by the clock-hands are themselves wave-like, with a constant ebb and flow between reporting the time each minute.
First launched in September 2019, The Tidal Series currently comprises four highly limited edition artworks.
The choreographies shown, as with all A million Times pieces, are inspired by and draw upon natural, artistic and mathematical pattern formations.
In the Tidal series, this combination of materials and choreographies becomes an intersection of the artists’ interest in the phenomena of order in nature and the patterns that exist within many aspects of design and technology.
